Biograpy

​Jason Kaufman lives in Mansfield, Ohio with his wife, Jenny. The couple just gave birth to their first child, a son named Cormac James, on June 12, 2013. Jason is closely involved with the local art community in Mansfield. He participates in monthly art critiques and writing workshops, writes reviews of regional art exhibitions, and you can often find him battling stage fright at local poetry & prose open mics. Jason is the Gallery Director for Relax, It's Just Coffee and works for Main Street Books, a local independent book store.

Jason has a B.A. in Studio Crafts with a focus in Glass-Working from Kent State University. He is formally trained in small and large scale casting of glass, metal, and polymer. He's experienced in a wide range of crafts; woodworking, carving, metalworkng, glassblowing, both decorative and art painting, and ceramics. Sewing is integral to the sculptures in his "Emergent Series", a craft he learned as a boy from his mother, who is a seamstress. Jason has written two novels.
